My Father Had Severe Emphysema. Doctors Gave Him 6 Months to Live — 20 Years Ago.

This is not a typical article. It’s the story of my father — his health trajectory, the verdict he received, and how he beat it. To the best of our knowledge, he may be the first documented case of severe emphysema reversed to this degree.
He no longer needs a CPAP machine to sleep. He no longer requires supplemental oxygen at night. His oxygen saturation holds at 96–97% without any assistance.
He is 85 years old.
