❄️ Why I Stopped Doing 40°F Cold Plunges (and Why 57°F Is My New Sweet Spot)

I used to swear by 40°F cold plunges — until I realized they were doing more harm than good. Here’s why I now stay above 57°F, and how it’s transformed my recovery, hormones, and mindset.

For years, cold plunges were a badge of honor in the biohacking community.

40°F (4°C)?

Bring it on.

Stay in for 3 minutes? Check.

Feel like a warrior? Definitely.

But here’s the truth I’ve come to embrace — and one I believe more biohackers should talk about:

👉 Just because it’s extreme doesn’t mean it’s better.

Today, I no longer plunge into freezing 40°F water.

Instead, I’ve shifted to cold exposure at 57°F (14°C) — and I’m seeing better results, both physiologically and hormonally.

And there are several studies that prove this is the right approach.

Let me explain (and prove) why.
