"You're too skinny, skeletal, frail — it's not attractive!"
The global obesity epidemic has completely reshaped how we perceive bodies. What looked normal in the 1950s is now seen as "too thin"... But how did we get here?! Let’s break it down…
Today, I weigh 114.6 lbs (52 kg) for 5’3” (1m60), with 21% body fat, an 11% increase in bone mass over the past 18 months, a VO2 max of 36, and a PWS of 7.4 m/s — which corresponds to a vascular age of around 40.
I’m fit, muscular, resilient, and full of energy.
And yet…
When I recently hosted friends, one male guest said:
“You’ve become too thin, skeletal — that’s not attractive!”
